How employees work in Plain
When you add an employee in Plain, they're automatically covered by statutory workers' compensation insurance. This ensures your employees are covered in line with current regulations, with no extra hassle.
If you'd rather not manage employees manually, you can connect your payroll system to Plain. That way, updates and changes happen automatically, and you avoid the manual work.
Updating and adding employees
The first time you open employee management, you'll see example employees (placeholder employees) that you'll need to update with the correct details. You can recognize them by the badge "Created by Plain". Alternatively, you can add employees manually.
Please keep the following in mind:
If you delete a placeholder employee, it's deleted permanently.
If you delete an employee who has been manually updated or added, the employee is set to inactive instead and can be reactivated later.
When you add your first manual employee (rather than just updating a placeholder), all placeholders that haven't been updated are removed automatically. That's why we recommend updating the placeholders one by one if the number matches, rather than adding completely new employees.
The pre-created employees are based on your answers during onboarding, where you entered your number of full-time and part-time employees. To update an employee, either click directly on the employee or use the "..." menu on the right and choose Edit.
Edit employee details
When you edit an employee, you need to fill in the following fields:
Name
CPR number
Job title
Full-time or part-time
It's important that the details are correct, so the insurance fits each individual employee.
With this approach, you get simple and secure employee management that ensures the right insurance coverage – whether you choose to update manually or use a system integration.
