Deductible
The deductible (also called an excess) is the part of a loss you pay yourself before the insurance covers the rest. It is subtracted from the compensation and stated in your policy. A higher deductible usually means a lower premium.
Examples
A loss costs DKK 20,000 and the deductible is DKK 3,000. You pay DKK 3,000 and the insurance pays DKK 17,000.
