Condition report

A condition report is a professional survey describing the current state of a building or asset, including visible damage and wear. Insurers can use it to assess risk and set terms. Damage already noted in the report is usually not covered afterwards.

Examples

When buying commercial property, the condition report shows damp in the basement. That damage will typically not be covered by the insurance later.
